Details of the project are:
- Proceeds of the home sale will go to CHBA-BC to help fund their new locale as well as training programs for the industry , a portion will also go to CHBA-CVI
(anything in excess of promotional/marketing/hard building costs)
- 1,600 sq. ft. home with coach house, located at 583 Stonewater Drive in Nanaimo’s award winning Hawthorne Community. Home will include Carriage House.
- Project will be a test case for CHBA and will involve both a demonstration home and a street showcase of an additional 4 homes.
- Target price point for demonstration home will be: $450,000.
- Goal is to showcase the building industry and to demonstrate how building green can be affordable, attainable and achievable
- Will be built to Built Green Gold/Platinum standards, pending support and donations/contributions towards the project.
- Opportunity to build story surrounding CHBA/InSight partnership and demonstrate how players in the industry have come together.
